Trade

In the Netherlands, business went well. It was the time of the Golden Age, from about the 16th to the mid-17th century. People in the Netherlands were smart about trade. Amsterdam became super important for trade in Europe.

They had beautiful ships and traded with places faraway, such as Asia. There was also a company called the VOC. They were responsible for the distant trade. The Dutch even caught whales and traded things between Europe, Africa and America.

Trade ensured that the Netherlands became very rich at that time.
