One of the most prominent Mozambican Water Sector professionals is Mr. (Engenheiro) Manuel Alvarinho. He was one of the first graduates in Civil Engineering at the Eduardo Mondlane University. During his career he was amongst others director of Aqua Rural (at DNA) and the first president of the regulator CRA. He is one of the co-founders of Aquashare, the Mozambican association of water professionals. Mr. Alvarinho is a regular advisor to the Netherlands Embassy and highly valued for his strategic vision. In 2015 he got an honorary doctorate from TU Delft for his lifelong achievements for the water sector in Mozambique.
