Self-supply

Self-supply. Families investing in their own water systems. Self-supply and supported Self-supply can be an additional service delivery model and is increasingly seen as an option to reach SDG6. An option to reach “the last mile” including families living in small/ remote rural communities. Scaling Self-supply is now included in the policies of Ethiopia and Uganda. To scale Self-supply it essential to have a commercial supply chain of affordable technologies and products. Organisations promoting Self-supply include CAWST for Sanitation and MetaMeta , SMART centre Group for water technologies. Self-supply is also promoted by RWSN.
